Here are just a few more industries that can benefit from having employees skilled in CPR:
  • Construction

To get a certification in CPR, you must successfully complete a CPR course. If you need certification for your employer, you will need to complete an in-person skills assessment.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, or CPR, is an invaluable tool when it comes to saving lives. After all, CPR can double or triple the chances of survival during cardiac arrest, when the heart stops beating or beats too ineffectively to circulate blood to the brain and other vital organs. By having more workers trained in this simple, yet life-saving technique, it can increase the chances of survival for those who suffer cardiac arrest on-the-job and beyond.
When you think about who needs to get CPR certified, a lot of occupations probably come to mind—from EMTs to nurses and doctors. But it’s not just healthcare workers and first responders who need training. There are many other positions — whether they’re full-time or part-time jobs — that may require CPR certification. Here’s a look at just a few examples:
  • Educators
  • Childcare Providers
  • Special Needs/Elderly/Companion Care Providers
  • Coaches/Referees
  • Personal Trainers
  • Physical Therapists
  • Residence Assistants and Staff Members

Stop The Bleed Course - Student

A life-threatening bleeding injury can happen anywhere, and the person next to a victim may very well be the one most likely to prevent fatal bleeding. A Stop the Bleed course will help you become an immediate responder by learning how to control bleeding injuries from serious accidents or disasters.
Participants in the course will learn how to recognize life-threatening bleeding and act quickly and effectively to control it with three quick techniques. The Stop the Bleed training course will empower you to make a life-or-death difference when a bleeding emergency happens.
The Stop the Bleed campaign was initiated by a federal interagency workgroup convened by the National Security Council Staff, The White House. This collaborative effort was led by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma (ACS COT) to bring knowledge of bleeding control to the public and build national resilience.
Stop the Bleed courses train the public to save lives through three basic actions to stop life-threatening bleeding following everyday emergencies and man-made and natural disasters. Advances made by military medicine and research in hemorrhage control during the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq have informed the work of this initiative which exemplifies translation of knowledge back to the homeland to the benefit of the general public.
Our instructors will teach you in person using training materials specially developed to teach bleeding control techniques. They will not only instruct you, but they will also be available to check your movements as you practice three different bleeding control actions: * Use your hands to apply direct pressure to a wound. * Pack a wound to control bleeding. * Apply a tourniquet.
These three techniques will empower you to assist in an emergency. Instructors will keep working with you until you demonstrate the correct skills to stop the bleed and save a life.
This course last no longer than 1.5 hours. A formal presentation is followed by hands-on practice of applying direct pressure, packing a wound, and using a tourniquet to stop bleeding.
There's no minimum age requirement for the Stop the Bleed course, although we do recommend letting parents/guardians know about the graphic images and content included in the presentation. Instructors have taught the class to kids of all ages!.
