Tactical Handcuffing Course Overview. Proper training in the use of handcuffs is vital to officers. Handcuffs are among the most often used tool by officers, yet training is severely lacking. The techniques presented are practical and effective. Topics to be covered include the safest approach and positioning for handcuffing, handcuffing resistive subjects, removing handcuffs, and the use of various type of cuffs, among others.

The curriculum includes:
• Lawful use of force
• Physical force in making an arrest
• Submission of combative persons

• Working with law enforcement
• Use of force with 3rd parties
• Restraint types
• Application of restraints
• Monitoring of restrained persons
• Transportation of restrained persons

Students should be physically prepared for these classes in order to ensure successful completion of the courses. This course involves exposure to chemical agents as well as the physical exercises. Students with physical conditions that may impair their ability to participate are responsible for contacting their physician for medical clearance prior to enrollment. Conditions requiring such consultation include but are not limited to high blood pressure, heart problems, lung problems, to include bronchitis and asthma, or allergies. Damon Finch Power Sessions will not assume responsibility for any students who do not seek medical consultation prior to course participation. Any student who is unable to participate in the exercises cannot receive a certificate of completion. It is incumbent upon the student to ensure they are physically capable of meeting the requirements of the courses.

Notice to students: Students of this course will be exposed to Oleoresin Capsicum as a requirement for their successful completion certificate. Students who have undergone any type of eye surgery in the past 12 months must notify the Damon Finch Power Sessions prior to enrollment in an OC Aerosol Projector course. Typically, patients who have undergone eye surgery require approximately six months for complete recovery. In order to provide the greatest margin of safety, Damon Finch Power Sessions STRONGLY advises that any student who has undergone eye surgery to delay participation in this class for a full calendar year from the date of surgery.
